Luna shines upon me bringing brilliance
to the darkness of night
She greets me when I am alone, And keeps me company
in the silence
I am her slave, drawn to her pale face as the servant
to whom she smiles
I wait
And she continues on, never faltering.
Millions of diamonds and jewels adorn her gown
Each striving to outshine her, yet not one succeeding
As Endymion to Selene I pledge my love.
With each year I grow
She remains there looking down to me
To travel the world I cannot be alone
In Ireland's green fields
All the roads leading to Rome
Or even the rice patties of Japan
I am never alone
For my Goddess and my love follows me.
As I grow old, weary and die...
She lives
On and on to watch those that come after me
And you-
You too will love her face,
As those have always worshiped her
for her constance
for her magnificence
for her radiant light
As those not yet born will entrust
Their prayers to her.
All who have and will look upon her
all will love her as I do
